For those seeking to meet the requirements of鈥疉ccreditation to Work, Teach and Lead (AWTL) Category E鈥痶hrough a leadership course, or those pursuing鈥痯ostgraduate study for Category D鈥痶o teach Religious Education, it is essential to engage in a conversation about appropriate course selection.鈥疌areful attention must be given to the units of study, ensuring they are grounded in鈥疶heology and/or Religious Education disciplines. Choosing subjects outside these areas may result in not meeting the AWTL standards. Financial Support Offered by Catholic Schools听
Staff employed by Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle may apply before commencing their course for fee assistance and study leave. Applications are subject to approval.听 Please note the following:听听
- Fee Assistance: 50% of approved unit fees are reimbursed. While all postgraduate study programs are considered, priority is given to Religious Education, Theology, and/or Catholic Leadership.听
- Study Leave: Approved applicants may access one day of study leave per unit, per semester. This leave must be taken in the semester of study and cannot be accumulated.听听
- Limits: Financial support may be available for up to 12 units of postgraduate study during employment with Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle.听听
Applicants must receive written approval from Catholic Schools Maitland-Newcastle before applying for their intended course of study. To claim reimbursement, staff must provide an academic transcript and proof of fee payment after successfully completing each unit.听
